Gordon, et al. v. Aetna Life Insurance (D. Conn.): Cohen Milstein is partnering with Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), now known as Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE), and Wardenski P.C. in a putative civil rights class action against Aetna Life Insurance Company on behalf of three transgender women, who were denied coverage for medically necessary gender-affirming facial reconstruction procedures.

Albert et al. v. Global Tel*Link Corp. et al. (D. Md.): Cohen Milstein and co-counsel, including the Human Rights Defense Center, and the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs represent families of inmates in prisons and correctional facilities throughout the United States. Plaintiffs allege that telecommunications giants, Global Tel* Link Corp., Securus Technologies, LLC, and 3Cinteractive Corp., engaged in a price-fixing and kickback scheme to inflate the prices of single call collect calls placed by inmates in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

All Wrapped Up Signs and Graphix LLC v. Visa Inc. (S.D.N.Y.): Cohen Milstein filed a putative class action on behalf of plaintiff All Wrapped Up Signs and Graphix LLC alleging that Visa Inc. violated the Sherman Act and various state antitrust laws by (1) monopolizing and attempting to monopolize, and (2) reaching agreements not to compete in and in restraint of trade of, the market for debit transactions in the United States.
Amazon Flex Driver Mass Arbitration
Amazon Flex Driver Arbitrations (AAA): Cohen Milstein represents thousands of current and former Amazon Flex delivery drivers in California, Illinois and Massachusetts who allege that Amazon misclassified them as independent contractors instead of employees to avoid paying them overtime or reimbursing for expenses, and to deny them other benefits under these states’ laws. These cases are currently being litigated before the American Arbitration Association.
AMPAM Parks Mechanical ESOP Litigation
Barrios, et al. v. AMPAM Parks Mechanical, Inc., et al. (S.D. Cal.): Cohen Milstein represents employee participants and beneficiaries of the AMPAM Parks Mechanical, Inc. Employee Stock Ownership Plan in a class action lawsuit alleging that AMPAM Parks Mechanical and the founders of AMPAM, Buddy Parks, John D. Parks, James Parks, and Jason Parks breached their fiduciary duties in the management of the ESOP in violation of ERISA.
Apple Gender Pay Discrimination Litigation
Jong, et al. v. Apple Inc. (Cal. Sup., S.F. Cnty.): Cohen Milstein is representing current and former female Apple employees in a putative gender pay discrimination class action. Plaintiffs claim that since 2020, Apple has violated California’s Equal Pay Act and Fair Employment and Housing Act by systematically paying women lower wages than male employees who perform substantially similar work.
AT&T Data Breach Litigation
Unruh, et al. v. AT&T Mobility LLC (N.D. Ga.): Cohen Milstein is representing a putative class of AT&T customers, whose names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and other personally identifiable information (PII) were the subject of a massive data breach. Plaintiffs claim that upon learning of the breach in August 2021 when hackers auctioned the database of 70 million customers’ PII in an online hacking forum, AT&T denied the breach ever occurred and refused to investigate. Three years later when the contents of the database were publicly leaked on the dark web and independently verified did AT&T admit the breach occurred and began an investigation.
AT&T Pension Benefit Plan Litigation
Scott, et al. v. AT&T Inc. (N.D. Cal.): Cohen Milstein represents participants and beneficiaries in the AT&T Pension Benefit Plan who allege that AT&T failed comply with ERISA’s actuarial equivalence requirements when providing married participants joint and survivor annuities.
