Joe Sellers, founder and co-chair of the Civil Rights and Employment practice, has been invited to speak at the Complex Litigation Ethics Conference at the Center for Litigation and Courts hosted by Center for Litigation and Courts: UC Law San Francisco at UC Law San Francisco, October 15 – 16, 2026.    Â
The fifth annual conference brings together luminaries in the legal field—judges, scholars, lawyers, and others—to discuss cutting-edge issues on litigation ethics that are of critical importance to our justice system.
Joe’s panel, “Risk of Reprisal: The Ethics of Taking Legal Action Against a Vengeful Government” will take place at 10:00 am PDT on October 16, 2026.
Joe and the other panelists will discuss ethical challenges and risks attorneys face when litigating against federal and state governments. They will also explore ethical issues arising in recent cases and the approaches attorneys have taken to address them.
