The District of Columbia has agreed to $9.3 million worth of settlements for its antitrust claims against two landlords it accused of using RealPage Inc.’s revenue management software for rent price-fixing, the city’s attorney general announced Monday.
JBG Associates LLC will pay $8.1 million and Mid-America Apartments LP has agreed to pay $1.2 million, the announcement said. Neither landlord has admitted to any wrongdoing, according to two separate filings posted in D.C.’s Superior Court.
In June, D.C. settled its antitrust claims against Avenue5 Residential LLC and Bell Partners for $1.4 million.
As part of the recently announced settlements, JBG and Mid-America Apartments both agreed to not use, license or promote revenue management software that uses confidential information when operating in D.C. If the landlords don’t comply with the settlements, independent monitors could get appointed to oversee the landlords, according to the filings.
