Daniel Sommers Speaks on Healthcare Securities Class Actions & Capital Market Risks

American Bar Association

September 2, 2026

Daniel S. Sommers, a partner in our Securities Litigation & Investor Protection practice, has been invited to speak at the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Fall Meeting 2026, from September 2 to 4, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Daniel’s panel, “Healthcare Securities Class Actions, SEC Enforcement & Emerging Capital Markets Risks,” will take place on September 2, 2026 at 10:00 am CT.

Healthcare led all sectors in U.S. securities class action filings in 2025, with health technology and services alone accounting for roughly 31% of new cases (per NERA) — the highest share in five years — alongside continued growth in pharmaceutical and biotech filings.

Plaintiff, defense, regulatory-enforcement, and judicial voices examine FDA and manufacturing actions, managed-care and DOJ investigations, guidance and AI-washing claims, SEC shadow-trading theories, and private-equity exits. Panelists will address disclosure issues – what healthcare companies tell the market versus what is actually happening in its regulated operations or balance sheet – and the potential for securities violations, and subsequent regulatory enforcement and securities class actions, and related challenges.
