Rebecca Ojserkis, an associate in our Civil Rights & Employment practice, will speak on the panel, “Discovery Issues in Arbitration” on Saturday, November 16.

Panelists will review how parties obtain discovery in arbitration, including the scope of discovery, available forms, impact of different statutory and arbitration tribunal rules, including mandatory disclosures and differences between labor and employment arbitrations. The panel will also consider an arbitrator’s authority to issue third-party subpoenas or order depositions where the governing contract or agreement doesn’t provide for it and enforcement of subpoenas.

Brian Corman, a partner in our Civil Rights & Employment practice, will participate as a speaker in the 2024 Consumer Rights Litigation Conference & Class Action Symposium, October 24 – 27, 2024, at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, FL.

Brian’s program, Insurance Redlining and Other Abusive Practices, will be hosted on October at 4:00 p.m. Brian will co-present with Tara Ramchandani, Relman Colfax, PLLC.

The program will focus on consumers’ access to insurance. This includes a general discussion of the home insurance industry, including the steep increase in costs, redlining of certain communities, withdrawing from localities that suffered a disaster, and refusing to renew consumers. The discussion will also focus on how advocates can spot insurance-related issues in their clients’ cases.

Laura Posner, a partner in our Securities Litigation & Investor Protection practice, will participate as a panelist in the Women in Securities Litigation Network Plaintiffs’ Lawyer Panel program on October 8, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at Paul Hastings LLP’s New York City office.
