About the 2021 AT&T Data Breach
In 2021, AT&T learned that a hacker group was selling what it said was AT&T customers’ personal data. This information included names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth. Rather than investigate, AT&T denied the breach and continued its operations.
Three years later, this data is fully exposed on the Dark Web. AT&T has admitted that the personal information of some 73 million customers was released. Many current and former customers now face risks of identity-related fraud.
