Candace is an associate in Cohen Milstein’s Civil Rights & Employment practice, where she focuses on complex litigation challenging discrimination in employment and housing.
Prior to joining Cohen Milstein, Candace was a law clerk for the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and a law clerk for the Honorable Jeremy C. Daniel of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Before her judicial clerkships, Candace was a federal public defender in the appellate division for the Districts of Colorado and Wyoming. She was also a public defender in the appellate division for the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender.
During law school, Candace served as the senior notes and comments editor for the Howard Law Journa. She was awarded the 2019 Burton Award for her comment, When the Cops Become the Robbers: The Impact of Asset Forfeiture on Blacks and How to Curtail Asset Forfeiture Abuses, 62 How. L.J. 277 (2018).
Candace is not yet admitted practice law in the District of Columbia. However, pending admission, she is working closely under the supervision of partners who are admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
