Brian Corman, a partner in our Civil Rights & Employment practice received the Equal Rights Center’s Partner in Progress award.
Brian was recognized “for his vigorous, creative representation of the ERC in a key case in which [ERC] challenged overly broad tenant screening requirements in 2024.”
That case was Equal Rights Center v. Air Communities, L.P., et al. (D.C. Sup. Crt.), which concluded on July 1, 2024. As part of the settlement, AIR Communities agreed with ERC’s stipulations to not deny applicants for having criminal records and evictions over a certain number of years, as well as using income-based housing subsidies, such as vouchers, to pay for rent.
