Leslie M. Kroeger Receives Champion of Consumer Safety Award

October 26, 2015

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.)  Cohen Milstein partner, Leslie M. Kroeger, is the recipient of the Champion of Consumer Safety Award, presented by the Florida Justice Association. The award is given “In recognition of strong leadership, determined advocacy and steadfast commitment to the Protection of Children and Consumers on Florida’s Roadways.” Kroeger was presented the award on October 22, 2015 at the FJA Masters of Justice Convention, hosted at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, Florida.

Over the past three years, Kroeger led a campaign to raise the state’s standard for child passenger safety, resulting in the passage of SB 518, a state law that requires children ages five and under to be secured in crash-tested, federally approved child restraint devices. Florida had the weakest child passenger safety law in the nation, and Kroeger’s dedication raised awareness in both local communities and the state capitol to address a failure in the law that placed the state’s most precious cargo at risk.  Additionally, she has led the charge on a variety of legislative actions to reduce catastrophic injury in motor vehicle accidents including promoting a proactive bill to raise awareness on tire aging.  Her tireless advocacy on campaigns dedicated to reduce injury by promoting vehicle and child passenger safety earned her this honor.

Kroeger currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Florida Justice Association and is Past Chair of the Women’s Caucus. She is a successful civil trial attorney with a practice focused on complex civil litigation matters, including products liability, automotive crashworthiness, wrongful death and cases involving managed care abuse. She litigates cases in the State of Florida and nationwide.
