Kalpana Kotagal Invited to Speak at the Sikh Coalition’s Virtual Legal Conference, “Realizing Justice for All”

Kalpana Kotagal, a Partner in Cohen Milstein’s Civil Rights & Employment practice, has been invited to speak at “Realizing Justice for All,” the Sikh Coalition’s first virtual legal conference, on September 24, 2021.
Ms. Kotagal will speak on the panel “Sikhs & Civil Rights: Challenges and Strategic Approaches to Combating Discrimination Based on the Intersectionality of Race, Religion and Caste.” Panelists will explore questions including:
What civil rights challenges have Sikhs faced as a minority (within a minority) community?
How has the intersectionality of race, religion, and caste impacted civil rights protections?
What steps can the Sikh community take to advance the broader American civil rights movement?
