For the second year in a row, Cohen Milstein's Jeanne A. Markey and Raymond M. Sarola served on a panel that presented this CLE course on the use of statistical sampling and extrapolation in False Claims Act (FCA) litigation.  The panel examined how courts have addressed statistical sampling and related issues, and discussed the future implications of this important trend.

Ms. Markey is a Co-chair and Mr. Sarola is a member of the firm's Whistleblower/False Claims Act practice.  Ms. Markey has extensive experience in Qui Tam litigation in the health care, defense and education industries.  She is co-lead counsel in United States of America et al., ex rel. Lauren Kieff, v. Wyeth, the whistleblower case against pharmaceutical giant Wyeth (recently acquired by Pfizer), which alleges that Medicaid was defrauded when Wyeth falsely inflated  the price of the drug Protonix Oral. Mr. Sarola also represents whistleblowers in a wide range of industries.  Prior to joining the firm he served as Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel in the Mayor's Office of the City of New York, and has lectured and authored articles on fraud and fiduciary law issues.
