December 09, 2020

Kalpana Kotagal, a Partner in Cohen Milstein’s Civil Right & Employment practice is invited to speak at Practising Law Institute’s 25th Annual Consumer Financial Services Institute on December 9, 2020.

The leadership and priorities of the CFPB, FTC, OCC and FDIC and federal banking agencies have changed under the Trump Administration and due to, in part, COVID-19. This popular annual CLE program will bring together faculty representing a wide range of perspectives on what theses agencies are focusing on now, externally and internally, and the areas in which the risk of private litigation, including class actions, remains high.

Ms. Kotagal’s presentation, “Diversity/Inclusion in the Legal Profession – Consumer/Financial Services,” will address

  • The legal profession’s diversity/inclusion gap
  • Diversity & Inclusion as a law firm culture issue
  • Connecting diversity & inclusion to other forms of discrimination in the legal profession
  • Clients, courts, and millennials care; the law firm business case for diversity and inclusion
  • Acknowledging and addressing unconscious bias in the legal field
