Activists Chelsea Handler, Anita Hill and Jordan Peele will Keynote Variety‘s Inclusion Summit on November 1, 2017 at the Montage Beverly Hills in Beverly Hills, CA.
Industry leaders will gather for the one-day event to support film, TV, and digital media that speaks to audiences worldwide, across boundaries of gender, disability, sexual identity, ethnicity and age.
“In light of the recent firing of Harvey Weinstein for multiple sexual harassment allegations, the entertainment industry needs to step up and help eradicate the abhorrent behavior and culture of enabling that has permeated Hollywood for decades,” said Claudia Eller, Variety‘s co-editor-in-chief. “Variety’s intention is to be a positive force for change and our Inclusion Summit facilitates that conversation.”
Topics of discussion will include Hollywood’s newfound voice for change, Latino entrepreneurship in the media industry, inclusive brand innovation, the future of inclusive storytelling, the fight for gender balance in the entertainment industry and mentoring the entertainment and media industry. The summit is held in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Univision, AARP, City National Bank and Ray Halbritter and the Oneida Indian Nation.
