Christine E. Webber, Co-Chair of Cohen Milstein’s Civil Rights & Employment practice will speak at AnitaB.org’s Elevating Conversations: A Series for Women & Non-Binary Technologists on April 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. EST/ 3:00 p.m. PCT.
Ms. Webber joins Anita F. Hill, Monique L. Thompson and Brenda Darden Wilkerson, President & CEO of AnitaB.org for an in-depth discussion on “Advancing Women’s Economic Security Through Pay Equity.”
This Elevating Conversations event will share legal resources and actions for individuals to help address and mitigate pay discrimination in the tech sector. The discussion will also focus on the rising number of states enacting pay transparency protections for workers, the impact of pay transparency protocols on the retention of female talent, transformative approaches to organizational change, and much more.
Closing the gender pay gap is critical to creating a fair and equitable economy for women in the workforce, particularly in the tech sector. In 2021, full-time working women earned on average just 83.1 percent of what men earn. Studies show that the undervaluation of women’s work not only affects financial security and mobility, but it can also lead to mental health problems.
