“Hospital Attack Lawsuit Set for Trial in December,” Ocala Star Banner
May 03, 2018
A hospital employee who was attacked and injured in 2016 while treating a bank robbery suspect will face off with the city of Ocala in court at the end of this year.
Adam Langino, of Palm Beach, who represents hospital employee Kimberly Lucas in the case, and city of Ocala attorney Patrick Gilligan, told a judge Thursday morning they expect the trial to last five days. Fifth Circuit Judge Lisa Herndon set the trial to begin Dec. 10.
In the suit, Lucas claims injuries she suffered in the attack were due to an Ocala Police officer’s “careless decision” to leave Lucas alone with suspect Jonathan Michael Rollins, 41, of Ocala.
