An association of dairy cooperatives will pay $40 million to settle dairy farmers’ claims that it provided data to the USDA that depressed raw milk prices.
The Eastern District of California approved a class action settlement between milk-marketing association DairyAmerica Inc., member California Dairies Inc., and 26,000 dairy farmers.
The four named plaintiffs will each receive $90,000, and four former named plaintiffs will receive $10,000 under the agreement approved by the court.
