Recession forces builder to ax plans for Port St. Lucie mall

Two years ago, dozens of Port St. Lucie officials piled into two buses and took a field trip to the Mall at Wellington Green. Their goal: to scope out the work of Taubman Centers Inc., which planned to build Port St. Lucie's first-ever mall. The much-anticipated shopping hub was to be at least 1.1 million square feet, with restaurants and entertainment.
