Madeleine Gates is a fellow in Cohen Milstein's Fellowship Program. In this role, Ms. Gates works on litigation matters spanning the firm’s antitrust, consumer protection, civil rights and employment litigation, human rights, and securities practice groups.
Prior to joining Cohen Milstein, Ms. Gates was a law clerk for the Honorable Josephine Staton of the United States District Court for the Central District of California the Honorable Sandra Lynch of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Ms. Gates received a B.A., highest distinction, from the University of Virginia and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was an online content editor for Harvard Civil Rights - Civil Liberties Law Review.
During law school, Ms. Gates was a student attorney and Impact Litigation Director at Prison Legal Assistance Project in Boston, Massachusetts.
Ms. Gates is applying for admission to the District of Columbia bar and is currently working under the close supervision of the partners of the firm's Fellowship Program who are admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
