Gary K. Li is Discovery Counsel at Cohen Milstein and is a member of the Public Client practice group. In his role, Mr. Li manages factual and legal research in litigation and confidential investigations, including overseeing discovery issues and supervising contract attorneys. He is currently helping to litigate multiple health care and consumer protection cases for the practice.

Mr. Li’s area of expertise is in electronic discovery. Prior to joining Cohen Milstein, Mr. Li was a staff attorney in the litigation department at Google Inc., where he managed large-scale e-discovery across a broad variety of topics, including multi-district privacy litigation, patent infringement cases and regulatory investigations.

Mr. Li attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a B.A. in American Studies (Highest Honors) and in English (Honors). He earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Pacific American Law Journal and a writing advisor in the lawyering skills program. While in law school, Mr. Li also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge A. Wallace Tashima of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Li is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
