Nissan has issued a recall of approximately 19,258 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX vehicles manufactured December 3, 2012 through January 29, 2013 due to a brake defect. The front brake torque member was improperly cast resulting in structural weakness. If the brake torque member fails, the brake caliper may move and contact the inside of the road wheel, resulting in brake failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in May 2013. Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge. Owners may contact Nissan directly at 1-800-647-7261. Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13V139000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
