A Michelin recall has been issued for approximately 100,000 defective tires due to a perforation in the sidewall that can cause the tires to lose pressure while the vehicle is in operation.  A loss of tire air pressure may lead to sudden tire failure, increasing the risk of a catastrophic injury. For a detailed list of affected tire brand details please click here

This recall is expected to begin sometime in late July 2013.  Michelin will notify tire owners and replace defective tires free of charge.  Owners may contact Michelin directly at 1-855-851-4951.  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13T006000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
