Hyundai has issued a recall of approximately 13,500 Veloster vehicles due to a factory defect affecting the panoramic sunroofs. The sunroof assembly in certain 2012 vehicles manufactured from November 1, 2011 through April 17, 2012 may have been weakened during installation. If the assembly was weakened, the panoramic glass panel may break while the vehicle is in motion leading to catastrophic injury or a vehicle crash.

This recall is expected to begin sometime during January 2013. Dealers have agreed to inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge. Owners may contact Hyundai directly at 1-800-633-5151 and reference safety recall no. 108. Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V568000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
