Hyundai has issued a recall of approximately 186,254 Elantra vehicles manufactured from November 12, 2010 through March 5, 2013 due to an airbag defect. A support bracket attached to the headliner may become displaced during a side curtain airbag deployment. If the headliner support bracket makes contact with an occupant during a crash, it may cause a laceration injury.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in May 2013. Dealers have agreed to inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge. Owners may contact Hyundai directly at 1-800-633-5151 and reference safety recall No. 109. Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13V115000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
