Honda has issued a recall of approximately 18,352 vehicles due to an auto defect that impacts the brake system in certain 2006 Acura RSX vehicles and 2006-2007 Honda S2000 vehicles. The brake booster may be unable to maintain a vacuum when the brake pedal is depressed, decreasing brake assist. With reduced braking assistance, the vehicle may require additional brake pedal force to prevent a lengthened stopping distance, increasing the risk of an automobile crash.

This recall is expected to begin sometime on July 12, 2013.  Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Honda directly at 1-310-783-2000 and reference safety recall no. JA4 (Honda vehicles) and JA5 (Acura vehicles).  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13V246000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
