Ford has issued a recall of approximately 390,783 vehicles due to a fuel system defect. The following vehicles are included in the recall class: 2013 Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion, Police Interceptor Sedan and Police Interceptor Utility vehicles; and certain model year 2013 Lincoln MKS, MKT, and MKZ vehicles. In certain affected vehicles, the fuel delivery module may develop a crack, allowing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire and catastrophic injury to vehicle occupants.
This recall is expected to begin sometime on July 15, 2013. Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.
