Approximately 442,481 Chrysler vehicles have been recalled due to an auto defect that can prevent the deployment of active head restraints during a rear impact collision.  The following vehicles are included in the call class:  2011-2013 Sebring vehicles, 2011-2013 Dodge Avenger vehicles, 2011-2012 Dodge Nitro vehicles, and 2011-2012 Jeep Liberty vehicles. In the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of the active head restraints, their non-deployment could increase the risk of injury.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in August 2013.  Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Chrysler directly at 1-800-247-9753 and reference safety recall no. N38.  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13V282000.
