A recall has been issued for approximately 644,354 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured from January 5, 2010 through September 8, 2013.  Certain 2011-2014 vehicles may have a brake defect that can cause the brake booster to corrode, allowing water to get inside. Should water enter and freeze, it could interfere with the vehicles braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall is scheduled to begin sometime in May 2014.  Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Chrysler directly at 1-800-853-1403 and reference safety recall no. P14.  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 14V154000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
