Chrysler Group has issued a recall of approximately 15,956 Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500 and Chrysler 200 vehicles due an auto defect that can cause the rear shocks to detach from the vehicle impacting the tires and the vehicles braking ability. Damage to the tire or reduced braking increases the risk of a vehicle crash in certain 2014 and 2015 vehicles.

This recall was scheduled to begin sometime in August 2014.  Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Chrysler directly at 1-800-853-1403 and reference safety recall no. P37.  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 14V392000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
