A recall has been issued for approximately 292,879 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles due to a brake failure defect. Certain 2011-2012 models may have an auto defect that causes a reduction or loss of brake assist. In the event this occurs, the operator may need to use extra pedal force or greater stopping distance to avoid a collision.

This recall has not been set but once determined, dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Chevrolet directly at 1-800-222-1020 and reference safety recall no. 12213. Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13V360000.
