A defective tire recall has been issued for certain Autoguard LT245/75R16 tires manufactured by Beijing Capital Tyre Co. between June 25th, 2012 and November 11th, 2012. The tires failed to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139 regarding "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles." The tires in this recall may crack in the tread area leading to sudden air loss and possible tire failure, significantly increasing the risk of a catastrophic injury.

This recall schedule has not been set but once determined, Beijing will notify tire owners and replace defective tires free of charge.  Owners may contact Beijing directly at 1-305-696-0096.  Additional details can also be found by referencing NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 13T007000.

Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov with any questions or concerns surrounding these or any other recalls or safety campaigns.
