A vehicle recall has been issued for approximately 19,197 Acura MDX AWD vehicles due to the loosening of bolts attaching the drive shaft to the automatic transmission transfer assembly.  If the drive shaft detaches while driving it could cause excessive noise and possibly damage the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall is expected to begin sometime in December 2013.  Dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.  Owners may contact Honda directly at 1-800-999-1009 and reference safety recall no.
