Hyundai has issued a recall of approximately 6,000 Santa Fe 2 WD vehicles manufactured between October 15, 2009 and March 5, 2010. Certain 2010 vehicles may contain a misalignment defect in the intermediate shaft that can lead to excessive wear and damage to the automatic transmission. The recall is expected to begin during June 2011 and dealers will inspect the vehicle and perform the necessary service free of charge.
