Cohen Milstein filed a lawsuit alleging that the internet telephone company, Vonage’s  “one month free” and “money back guarantee” offers and application of certain charges (including disconnect, cancellation and termination fees) violated consumer laws.  As co-lead counsel, Cohen Milstein was able to negotiate a very favorable settlement by which Vonage agreed to pay $4.75 million and which offered eligible class members reimbursements for Vonage subscribers who were unable to receive a full month of free service, did not receive a full money back guarantee, were charged disconnection fees after cancellation, or paid for monthly service after requesting cancellation.
