Serving as co-lead counsel, Cohen Milstein obtained more than $120 million in settlement from nine producers of oriented standard board, a major component in home construction and repair.  The class alleged that defendants had conspired to constrict the supply of oriented strand board in order to increase its price.  The complaint was one of the first in the nation to survive challenge under the Supreme Court decision U.S. v. Twombly.  In approving the last settlement in January 2009, U.S. District Court Judge Paul Diamond stated: “Counsel have represented their clients with consummate skill and efficiency, bringing this massive matter to conclusion in less than three years.”
