On February 19, 2014, a complaint was filed in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, alleging certain manufacturers of automotive air conditioning systems conspired to rig bids, and fix, maintain, and/or stabilize the prices of Air Conditioning Systems sold in the United States.  The complaint further alleges that the Defendants fraudulently concealed their conspiracy.

The case is supported by United States Department of Justice proceedings announced on September 26, 2013, in which the company pled guilty for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices.   As a result of Defendants’ unlawful conduct, Plaintiffs and members of the proposed Class paid higher prices for Air Conditioning Systems than they would have in a competitive market.  The proposed Class is composed of individuals and entities who purchased Air Conditioning Systems in the United States directly from one or more of the Defendants and/or their co-conspirators from January 1, 2001 through the present.

The Plaintiffs are represented by Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, Cozen O’Connor, and Gold Bennett Cera & Sidener LLP.
