Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC is accepting applications for a Discovery Counsel in the Public Client Practice.

The Public Client Practice offers a unique opportunity for mission-driven, public-interest work in a private-sector setting. We exclusively represent state attorneys general and large municipalities as their outside counsel in high-stakes civil law enforcement investigations and litigation – most commonly relating to consumer, financial, and healthcare fraud.
This position is an ideal match for an attorney with strong electronic and complex document discovery skills and a passion for public service. Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of practicing law as a litigator or e-discovery / discovery lawyer;
- Specific experience conducting discovery in complex civil litigation, including (1) developing and executing strategies for electronic discovery, (2) conducting and/or supervising complex document review and document review teams, and (3) working with clients to coordinate and facilitate document collection for discovery responses;
- Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills (experience drafting discovery and negotiating compliance with discovery requests is a plus but not required); and
- The ability to work independently and within a team, and to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Candidates must be an active member of the DC Bar or be willing to apply for membership within 90 days of employment at the firm.
