Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC is accepting applications for a Litigation Associate in the Public Client Practice.
The Public Client Practice offers a unique opportunity to do public-sector work in a private-sector setting. We exclusively represent government entities as outside counsel in high-stakes cases. State attorneys general comprise our largest client base, though we also represent other government entities. Our government work focuses on civil enforcement investigations and litigation, most commonly in consumer, financial, and healthcare fraud. This position is an ideal match for a litigator with a passion for public service.
Applicants must be able to take a substantial role in researching and writing briefs, play a strong supporting role in discovery, and supervise paralegals in litigation-related tasks. Applicants should have the following skills and qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of litigation experience in federal, state, or local government, a public-interest firm or advocacy group, or a private law firm;
- A strong academic background and excellent analytical and writing skills; and
- The ability to manage and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Candidates must be an active member of the DC Bar or be willing to apply for membership within 90 days of employment at the firm.
