Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC inked an $835 million deal with Dow in a class action over price fixing and saw the Second Circuit uphold its $450 million settlement with Apple for conspiring with publishers to raise e-book prices, placing it on Law360’s 2016 list of Competition Practice Groups of the Year.

The group, co-chaired by Kit A. Pierson and Richard A. Koffman, also earned a place on Law360’s list of Competition Practice Groups of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

Pierson said the quality, depth and collegiality of the competition group’s lawyers make it stand out from other firms, noting that, in addition to its high quality, it’s also bigger and can therefore bring more resources.

Koffman added that the group is unique in the way it brings many cases. “A lot of antitrust cases stem from government investigations of one kind or another.”  Koffman said, “and one thing that’s a little bit different about our group is we bring a lot of cases that we develop on our own without assistance from any government investigation.”
