October 25, 2017

The North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) have invited Cohen Milstein attorneys, Judge Martha Geer, Leslie M. Kroeger and Douglas J. McNamara to expand their class action/managed care abuse workshop, presented earlier in the year at the NCAJ’s Annual Convention in June, into a three-hour educational seminar.

Judge Geer, Mr. Leopold, and Mr. McNamara will co-present a 3 hour CLE accredited workshop titled, “Spotting a Class Action and Taking Action: Techniques and Tips to Expand Your Practice into Consumer Protection and Managed Care Abuse Litigation” on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the NCAJ's Raleigh North Carolina headquarter location.

Seminar attendees will learn how to analyze a case to identify a plausible class action and then take the next steps to bring it to fruition. In addition, seminar attendees will learn about a somewhat new area of consumer litigation: managed care abuse. Topics discussed will include sources of class actions; which case types have a better probability of yielding an actionable complaint; techniques to bring the class action; and identifying and pursuing claims related to managed care abuse.

The North Carolina Advocates for Justice is a nonpartisan association of legal professionals dedicated to protecting people’s rights through community, education, and advocacy.
