WEST PALM BEACH - True to their promise when they inked a $2.5 million settlement with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office this month, the parents of Seth Adams on Tuesday asked the state attorney to reopen an investigation into the deputy who fatally shot their son.

Underscoring comments by a federal judge who called the investigation into Adams’ death “shoddy” and “a disgrace,” Richard and Lydia Adams appealed to Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg to take a look at new evidence that emerged during a civil trial about Sgt. Michael Custer’s actions.
