A former Florida A&M University student who said she was raped three times while attending the historically black public school is suing administrators over their handling of the incidents.

The plaintiff, identified in the federal lawsuit as S.B., charges FAMU's board of trustees with negligence and Title IX violations in response to her reports of three rapes by different men on separate occasions in 2012 and 2013. Title IX is a landmark federal law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in education.

The former student is represented by Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC.
